Residential Property
Residential properties are a frequent line of work for property managers. These often involve an individual or family that will live in the unit/building for an extended amount of time. The property manager will often be responsible for setting the lease or rent terms including price, inspections, tenant selection, evictions, repairs to property, tenant complaints and any changing laws or regulations involving the property.
Commercial Property
Commercial property management often involves a larger scale tenant whose business involves the public. This adds a larger scale task for occupancy laws and regulations as well as zoning regulations. Property mangers are still responsible for the pricing and terms, maintenance, tenant selection, evictions and at times the complaints of multiple tenants in the same building. Commercial property management is usually handled in a team approach to ensure that both owners and tenants are happy and satisfied.
